User is unavailable to claim

Gabor Szinyei July 29, 2024

Hi,

I have an organization that is connected and synced to Google Workspace and I can see users there as managed accounts.

When adding the same Google Workspace to another organization, I would like to claim one of the users to this organization. The domain got verified and I can see the number of total accounts on that domain including the one I would like to claim but the interface says "You have no available accounts to claim"

Checked the user account in id.atlassian.com and it is marked as managed.

The user is currently added as external account. I can see it is listed when I request an export of the users for that domain.

How can I get this user claimed and part of the managed accounts?

Thanks in advance!

Individual users can only be claimed by one Organisation at a time. If you prefer some of the users already claimed by Org A to be claimed by Org B, you need to unclaim them from org A.

You can do this via admin.atlassian.com > Directory > Domains > Under actions select "Unclaim users"

You can then upload a CSV containing the users you want to unclaim from Org A and then claim those same users in Org B.

Its actually a brand new feature, and I don't know if its actually been documented yet.
