Hello. I am a Confluence Administrator and I would please have one question related to users which are marked as "Active" in the tool but have actually never logged in.
When setting up the tool, we defined a rule saying that users with certain email adresses can subscribe to the tool on their own. So basically they do not need the ADMIN (me) to add them to the tool.
This being said, I see that some users having one of the emails that allows them to subscribe directly to the tool are marked as Active but they have never logged in.
I do not really get this because they were suppose to connect to the tool at least once, on their own, so that they can be active. So how come they have the Never Logged In mention ?
My first guess is that they simply created their accounts and stopped afterwards and never consulted an of the spaces/pages of the tool.
I'd agree with your assessment. You can pulled into jira/confluence as a user from an Active Directory source or register yourself but unless you actually log in, you'll consume a license without even logging in.
This is not a problem, except when you are near the limit of your license tier. Then the cleanup begins. :)
