Hi Emma,

at first, thanks for using our plugin.

The easiest way would be: Look at the storage format of the content you like to replace. (In your case, the url.) this should look something like this:

<p><a href="http://rumpelcoders.atlassian.net/">http://rumpelcoders.atlassian.net/</a></p>

Then go to "Search and Replace " in your admin interface. Choose your scope ("global" if you wan all spaces) and insert the part of the storage format you want to replace in the "Search for" section.

Click "Show Occurences" to list all occurrences. This could take some time depending on your system's size.

If you are happy with the occurrences listed, insert the replacement text into the "replace with" section and hit replace all.

This replaces all occurrences of this String in your confluence instance.

Please let me know if it worked and tell us about your experience with the plugin!

Best regards,

Lukas

Thanks for your help Lukas, I opened the storage format and took the part I wanted to search, e.g file:///\\server\share\folder1 and then using search by page , select page, show occurrences, I received no results again. Is it a problem with this type of URL?

I tested the mentioned url in my system and it worked. Could you please tell me on which version of confluence you are working on? Could you also please make sure you are using the newest version of the plugin? It would really help if you could tell us the exact url for reproduction. If that's private data, please consider sending us an e-mail at rumpelstielzken@gmail.com. Sorry for my late answer. Best regards Lukas

Hi Lukas, Thanks again for your attention on this. So, I am using Confluence version 5.6.4 The plugin is now updated to v1.4 and on repeating my search - it is finding my occurrence. Which is fantastic. I think we're done here - I will continue my testing for my client.

Plugin = Global Search and Replace (Rumpelcoders)

Some more detail if it helps: I have a page with hardcoded links that need replacing, and when I search for one of these urls using the plugin, I get no search results at all. Same result if I change the scope from page, to global. So then I tried converting URL to utf-8 encoding, and using that for search. I did not get any search results from the page or from global search.
