Just a heads up: On March 24, 2025, starting at 4:30pm CDT / 19:30 UTC, the site will be undergoing scheduled maintenance for a few hours. During this time, the site might be unavailable for a short while. Thanks for your patience.
×I work in Australia and we pay just under $10 per person for Opsgenie. Now that Atlassian is moving away from Opsgenie, I need to replace the function with something else.
I believe JSM contains the same features. What will the cost for JSM be please? We don't currently use/need any other features of JSM, we just need to replace Opsgenie.
Hi @Stephen Graham ! This is a great question.
Both Jira Service Management and Compass now include alerting and on-call features; in this context, the main difference between them lies in the additional features that each product includes. While Jira Service Management includes alerting and on-call features alongside end-to-end incident management features, Compass includes alerting and on-call features alongside a robust software component catalog.
Atlassian has provided a recommended migration path—Jira Service Management or Compass—for each Opsgenie site. This is a customized recommendation, informed by your team's Opsgenie usage on the site.
To access that customized recommendation, you can first log into Opsgenie, and then navigate to "Settings" > "Migrate Opsgenie". On that page, you should see your site's recommended product and plan. And if you click on the "Plan your migration" button on that page, you can also see the pricing for your recommended product & plan. You can also compare features and pricing against your other options, if you like. As a heads up: the "Migrate Opsgenie" page is only visible to those with Opsgenie owner permissions.
Hope that helps! You can read a little more about the migration process and those migration options in this discussion over in the Opsgenie Migration group.
Hi @Stephen Graham , yes the features of Opsgenie have been integrated into JSM. For pricing info please look here - https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/service-management/pricing

Hi Jack,
If we're just using JSM for receiving alerts from our system and paging our on-call support, is that covered by the Standard Tier?
Is there documentation on how to set this up in JSM?
We'll probably go with a cheaper product because we don't need anything else in JSM, but I want to see how it works before dismissing it.

TBH, I have not spent any time with configuring alerts, on call scheduling, etc. since it has been integrated so unsure how different/similar it is with Opsgenie UI. The best I can offer is to research the docs a bit. Here is one place to start. set-up-operations-and-complete-your-shift-to-jira-service-management

@Stephen Graham As far as I know, Atlassian suggests that JSM+Compass together will be the replacement for OpsGenie.
Remember to check out Compass, too, as JSM alone may not provide all the features you expect.
