Just a heads up: On March 24, 2025, starting at 4:30pm CDT / 19:30 UTC, the site will be undergoing scheduled maintenance for a few hours. During this time, the site might be unavailable for a short while. Thanks for your patience.
×Hi everyone.
Does a Confluence space have a staging area that is different from the live instance? If yes, how can I migrate updated content in the staging area to the live version?
Many thanks
rob
Hi @Rob Whyte ,
Atlassian provide a test environment for developers (https://blog.developer.atlassian.com/cloud-ecosystem-dev-env/).
You can move contents cross instances through export and import feature (doc or xml).
Hope this helps,
Fabio
Hi Rob,
It's not available in the free Cloud version but you could apply page restrictions to the parent page of the "updated content" so that only the content updater can see it and no one else can. Otherwise you could move it from a "staging" space into the "live" space where only the content updater (e.g. yourself) has access. Again, permissions can not be set in the free version.
An alternative (available in the free version) is to "Hide" the page by re-ordering it so it does not sit under the Space Home Page (e.g. Computing in this example):
It is still available but not easily viewed unless you know to look for it.
Hope that gives you some options.
Cheers,
Damian
