@ to mention someone does not work

Erich Russenberger October 14, 2021

Hi to all,

simple question: when I use the @ to mention someoe, no @ does appear instead the "@"-shortcut turns the textstyle to size "title2". So I have to click on the @-button on top to use the @ sign to mention someone. In other applications the @ works totally fine.

Any ideas?

thx

Hi @Erich Russenberger

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!!!

As I can see that you have mentioned a label for Confluence so

I would suggest you to go through this article

https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/mention-feature-doesn-t-work-for-specific-user-if-disable-autocomplete-option-is-enabled-744527570.html

Or if the problem is not resolved I would request you to raise a ticket to Atlassian Support.

Cheers,

Mayur

Hi Mayur,

thanks for you answer. The case is exactly like described in your link, but the "Disable Autocomplete" option was not ticked. So it does not make any changes.

Cheers, Erich

Hi,

Are other users are added to Confluence or that particular space where you want to tag them?

Also you can check editor preferences. If that is disabled, then it will turn off the mention ability.

Hi,

Yes I have other users in the team and I can tag them by using the mouse and klicking on the @ sign. But when I use the "key way" to type an @, then the letter size changes to title2.

So it seems like this short cut is linked to change the text size instead of just type an @.

Cheers, Erich
