Select Epic by default when creating an issue

I am trying to link from Confluence to Jira and create an issue that auto selects a specific Epic under a Project. This is so our novice users who do not understand what Epics are they can easily fill out a ticket and not have to worry about what Epic it should be assigned to. 

I have been following the article below, but for some reason I cannot get the Epic to auto-populate.
