Hi all! Is it possible to add custom Text Styles in Confluence Cloud? In addition to Heading 1 through 6 (or perhaps in the Bold/Underline/etc. menu), I'd like to add additional items that my users can select, and have the formatting consistently happen through the site.
For example, any time we have a system configuration, they'd be able to click "System Configuration", or if there's something we'd tell a client, they'd be able to click "Client Instruction", and it would apply the proper formatting. Rather than me having to enforce a style guide company-wide of "make this kind of thing bold and underlined," I'd like to have them specify a style, which would also allow me to change the style sitewide later.
I'm guessing this might be possible via themes or decorators, but I'm seeing so many different versions of docs for that online that it's tough to see what's possible right now for Cloud, and how to do it.
Thanks!

Create a Confluence theme (atlassian.com)
The first is unclear about what flavor of Confluence it applies to (Cloud vs Data Center), and the second says it applies to a deprecated API.
I'm finding the whole concept of "theme" confusing, perhaps it's just the naming. Pretty much any other product, a theme is a sort of look-and-feel layer that can be swapped in and out.
In the Theme settings in Confluence (Cloud), it says "The current theme controls the layout and colours of this space." And yet I can't find a single theme that seems to do only that in the marketplace.
Thanks Andy! Unfortunately, it looks like the ones in the marketplace tend to work on macros, which seems really cumbersome.
Relatedly, which guide should someone use to develop a theme for Confluence Cloud? I'm seeing a bunch of conflicting guides.

To add to that, it *looks* like one of those guides shows you how to just insert a CSS sheet into your theme. If that's a capability, it would be really desirable, but I don't know if I'd be losing functionality by doing that over the default theme. Or if it even works the same way in Cloud.

Hey Alex!
That's a great question. At appanvil, we are devoted to tackling the very limited formatting options of Atlassian. I totally understand that you don't want to use a lot of macros, as this can be very cumbersome. We offer a free page builder called Karma that allows you to pick any font size and color that you want, even giving you the option to choose different fonts. Furthermore, you can create much more flexible layouts - I suggest you have a look at our sample pages: https://appanvil.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KARMA/pages/2847965185/Sample+Pages
Best,
Philip

@Alex Sramek can you elaborate on what you mean by 'develop a theme'? Perhaps share some of the links you are referring to so i can see what you are reading?

@Alex Sramek Welcome to the Atlassian Community.
The short answer is that out of the box, Confluence does not have this functionality. However there are numerous Marketplace Apps that provide extensibility of configurations and customizations for text, display and formatting. I suggest you take a look and demo some of them to find the best fit for your use case.

Good luck!
