Update Confluence License using REST

Hello Folks,

Could any of you have idea on how can we get the license key updated while confluence is freshly installed on a standalone server?

I'm planning to do it using PowerShell.

If it helps, can we add the license key directly to 'confluence.cfg.xml' to skip GUI configuration steps?

From what I could gather, you'd like to update the licence key directly to 'confluence.cfg.xml' as a way to skip configuration steps. Is that correct?

We suggest you do not do it for this purpose, as basically manually change the license directly in confluence.cfg.xml should be used for reasons such as upgrades are failing, the license is corrupted and cannot be changed in the Confluence UI.

From How to change the Confluence License in confluence.cfg.xml, please note that some versions of Confluence do not even require a hashed license. In these versions, you simply need to edit the confluence.license.messageproperty.

In order to know if your version needs the hash, you can check whether the line <property name="atlassian.license.hash" is present in the confluence.cfg.xml
