This morning I was experiencing some weird behavior in confluence. I suspect a bug with Atlassian intelligence but I'm not sure at the moment since it's not enabled in beta on our product, but I keep seeing popups for it in the editor.
I'll be typing up some notes in the editor, and it will duplicate part of the word as a new word, then I'll be unable to backspace more than a couple characters to remove this added text. I need to physically highlight and delete the extra text in order to get my keyboard to work within the editor again briefly before it happens again during the next word I'm trying to type. I can't even type out a 6-word sentence. Very aggravating.
Any thoughts on what might be happening or where to report bugs in software would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Hi @Jason Dunn welcome to the community! If you've tried Edge & Chrome, or a different PC, and see the same behavior, you can contact support @ support.atlassian.com/contact. Do other users have the same issue? Sometimes cookies get in the way of things.
I'm not seeing that behavior when I'm editing my pages this morning.
@Jason Dunn Our whole team is also seeing this behavior this morning. We rely heavily on Confluence, and this bug is crippling our work. It seems like it's destroying the cursor focus each time it auto-saves, or something.

I moved over to Chrome to confirm between browsers and the issue did not exist in chrome.
I cleared my cookies and temp files from Edge and ctrl + Shift + R to hard refresh the browser and the issue seemed to go away.

Magically, it seems to be working better for me now.

Looks like there was a confluence incident. Posting the body here for those who want to know :).
Thanks all!
From Atlassian Status page:
Between Nov 23, 2023 1:12 pm UTC to Nov 23, 2023 1:52 pm UTC, all customers experienced editing issues for Confluence. The root cause was a feature update on the editor that caused issues during page editing where inputting characters results in double entries and/or the cursor to shift unexpectedly. We have deployed a fix to mitigate the issue and have verified that the services have recovered. The conditions that cause the bug have been addressed and we’re actively working on a permanent fix. The issue has been resolved and the service is operating normally.
