Hi experts!
Before it was totally fine, normal cope-pasting data into the table but today it started.
When paste from Excel spreadsheet to Confluence table, content copied as table inside cell, as shown at the screenshot.
What I've tried: reboot, create new page, Microsoft Egde, nothing works well. Please help
Hi folks,
We've just made an update to the Nested Tables feature that is rolling out to customers. I've posted an update in this Community Article, but the TL;DR regarding the paste behavior is that we have reverted back to the original paste experience users are familiar within tables.

Hope this helps your editing experience,

I'm having the exact same issue! It used to work perfectly fine and suddenly it's now pasting the table within a single cell of the table and it's SERIOUSLY impacting my workflow. How do I fix it? Everyone in my organization is facing the same problem.

hi @Morgen Hoffman yesss that has upset me too. I dont know how to resolve it for now.
@Tomislav Tobijas _Koios_ mentioned that confluence's developers are on the go with some new table-related feature so I hope thats just unfortunate side effect that will be fixed soon.

My co-workers and I were ready to throw our computers yesterday so I'm very glad you asked this question to know we weren't alone!! I understand the want for nested tables, but please do not take away the previous functionality as it was essential to my daily workflow

Hey @Marina ,
Side note - I've seen this today for the first time as well. I believe they are rolling out nested tables > see CONFCLOUD-58656: Nesting tables are unsupported
I'm unsure about copying, but you might try to select the same table size on the destination (Confluence) as in the source (Excel) to make it work.
Cheers,
Tobi

I've tried this too but wherever the cursor is, is where the nested table is created. It doesn't paste to all the selected cells like you're suggesting. womp womp..

@Marina , @Morgen Hoffman I would definitely drop a comment on that feature suggestion I've linked as the team is obviously working on it now. Feel free to mention those issues you've been experiencing since the rollout and potentially link this thread.
It's just, so they are aware on time and can maybe make some adjustments as they are doing the release.
I guess the alternative would be to not create an empty table beforehand but just copy the Excel content directly to a page.

@Marina the behavior you see is normal in this world. I've found that w/o an add on you have to build the table first with the correct number of columns and rows to fill with the data. Then select all of them before you paste.

Hi @Danno yes i've tried that too, but had the same result. Also i've tried to select table array same size i need to paste but still same.
I'm sure that before today it was ok, i've just copypasted data and it was inserting in proper cells just with loss of formatting.

@Marina I'm wondering if you should use the macro for displaying the Excel table. If you are trying to excerpt only a portion to display, can you describe the steps you are taking in more detail. I'm trying to see if I can recreate your issue on my end.

@Marina I am able to duplicate your results by pasting the data into one cell as I described it earlier. See the screenshot below. I was wrong about re-sizing the Confluence table ahead of time. The bottom table was only three columns and 3 rows to start with.
