Confluence has lacked completely the ability to create templates from existing pages.
It completely lacks the ability to DUPLICATE an existing template.
And now Cloud has removed the SOURCE view, which at least let us copy layouts from pages to templates, or templates to templates.
At the same time steaming ahead with unwanted changes to Confluence layouts and removing customization options like CSS in a Confluence Cloud space.
Any one from Atlassian? Care to comment?
Show you are at least listening.
Hi @Norman Cates welcome to the community. I found CONFCLOUD-5877 on Atlassian's Jira Site to add functionality to save the page as a template. It doesn't have a lot of votes right now, so feel free to vote for and watch it.
CONFCLOUD-74513 was suggested to add the ability to copy a template.
There are several other issues out there relating to templates. Take a look out there and if you see some you are interested in, go ahead and give it a vote. That will help to move some of them closer to reality.
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
There's a serious disconnect here between these Community pages and those Jira pages.
I searched for information about pages to templates in here, and of course those pages didn't come up.
There should be a link where a search in here can also show those Jira pages. Otherwise people come in and ask the same questions because they don't know about the Jira pages.
Or indeed the 4 or 5 other support places that Atlassian has, all separeate from each other.
