how to create a link to new page? -

*the* most basic possible task - how ....when editing a page - does one create a link that will be to a new page.

this used to be a normal operation in Confluence, but it seems to have been removed in the new interface.

what am I missing? - the whole point of a wiki is to create a structured document.

Per https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/insert-links-724764900.html, you can use the markdown link syntax with an empty URL: [My new page]() to create an undefined placeholder link. Make sure to type a space or return after that to make the editor convert the markdown into the link.

You have to hit <ENTER> after using this longwinded syntax. It's not intuitive.

Yes, in new editor you won't see a Undefined page links (create a link to new page) and already improvement ticket is with Atlassian on this.

Below is the workaround suggested by Atlassian on this.

As this is not a native feature in the new editor for now, we can keep using our undefined links by opening them on a new tab (right-clicking over the link and selecting this option, or CTRL + Right Click / COMMAND + Right Click).

To insert an undefined link on a page with the new editor, create a link with this address:

• https://SITE_NAME.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/createpage.action?spaceKey=SPACEKEY

thanks Avinash. I have voted, however probably won't watch as the company I work for are now most unlikely to go ahead with Confluence.
