i have a team that uses kanban how do i calculate their capacity

For Kanban teams, Jira Align calculates a weekly throughput on the number of stories a team completes rather than using velocity.  It can be overridden if the calculation needs more time to include more weeks.  It also offers the ability to adjust allocations to a team if a member is out of the office for PTO or leave.
