URGENT: Alphabetical sorting for MultiSelect fields

Problem: I need a multi select field to which which customer accounts are requesting a certain feature. I created a custom field called "Source" for this, but there IS NO DEFAULT sorting. Meaning, options are displayed in the order I entered them. There could be 100 options. Please add some sorting behavior such as alphabetical.

if I understood correctly, you want to add many options to the multiselect field, and then you want to sort all options alphabetically. 

That's actually possible to achieve in Jira.
Go to Settings > Work Items > Fields > search for your desired field > open context > click edit options > you should see an option "sort alphabetically"

While we currently don't support this, I agree that it would be beneficial to have! I'm noting this as an iteration on field sorting.
