I'm setting up a JSM project for my team and trying to follow best practices in setting up workflows. I'd like to use the "[System] Incident" issue type and this article mentions a default workflow "ISD: Incident Management workflow for Jira Service Management" that can be used as a starting point. My problem is, I can't find where this workflow would be.
I've looked for it in my workflows (assuming it would have been created automatically as the post implied) as well as in the marketplace but couldn't find it. Anyone knows how to handle this?
Thanks!
Hi Arthur,
Different 'Types' of projects do create different work-flows.
For a standard Service Management Project, the Issue Types, are [System] Change, [System] Incident] etc
The workflows then would be the standard:
Change Management workflow for Jira Service management
Incident Management workflow for Jira Service Management etc.
Hence, it would appear that when you created the project, you may have selected another template, that does not use the standards that you suspected.
On Create Project, down the left, the first is
Software development
Service Management - select this template and then you should see the defaults.
Work flows can be shared between any number of projects, so there is no limit.
Hope this helps.
Mark
It takes asking a question to finding the answer...
- surprisingly the default workflows were not created automatically for this Service Project
- but I could find them in another project (for Incident, Post-Incident Reviews, etc) and I used these
I wonder why the workflows were not created for the project. Is it maybe because the workflow scheme is shared between several projects?
