How can request participants follow a request in Slack with Atlassian Assist?

I would like my employees to be able to add other employees to a request so that multiple people can follow along all within slack.

Today, all I know is possible is for the employee to leave slack, add the request participant in the portal, and have the request participants follow along & comment via email (better than nothing).

How can this be achieved within slack?

I would expect:

1. The reporter to be able to add request participants to an issue without leaving slack

2. The participants receive a thread to interact with (just like a reporter does)

3. The participants have the same permission to do things that they do today with email its just that they can do all of those actions (reply, receive notifications ,etc) within slack.
