How do i delete unused States?

Pascal Kontschan March 20, 2020 edited

In the How to it says:
"Statuses can be shared between workflows. Deleting a status in the workflow editor only removes the status from the workflow you're currently editing."

I accidentally created duplicate States, different names tough, an i now want to prevent the wrong ones to be used and want to delete them completly from the drop down list. The "todo" without "-"  is no longer used in any workflow but still shown.

You need to do this as follows:

  1. remove from every associated workflow
  2. Now go to - Jira settings > Issues > statuses and use the Delete link. If the Delete link is not there then the status is still being used by some workflow.

Service Desk statuses are not in that list.
