How to identify issue type in csv importer

Mara Julin May 31, 2023

Hi there,

I've tried several time to import a csv into jira to generate multiple tickets in bulk. I've read up on the workflow, gone through matching fields, etc. but it creates all the tickets using the default issue type of the project, which is not what I want.

I want to create tickets of a specific issue and request type in my service desk, but when I add it as a field to my csv, "issue type" or "request type" does not come up as an option to map it to.

How does one specific the issue type and request type they want all the tickets to be if its not the default of the project?

Hi @Mara Julin ,

I have checked and I am getting the option to map the Issue Type field.

Please check if the Issue Type field is added on the Create Screen for that particular Issue type or not. If it is not added then it will not show at the time of mapping.

Hello! That helped me thank you. I did it for issue type and then it showed up, but it won't let me do it for request type.

How do I map to request type?

Similar, you have to add the Issue type under create screen. Then you can see the option to map the issue type.
