I have a form for PTO approval and I have put the Approver field on the form. This field should only include a drop down menu of specific managers. The approver field does not seem to have this option. Is this user picker field the wrong choice to use? How do I get this field to only have a specific group of people in this drop down menu. Right now it seems like anyone we give access to the board in general appears in the drop down menu even if they are customers.
To limit the values you would need to edit the user filtering, but I think that isn't an option the the out of the box approvers field. You may need to create a new custom field to accomplish this.
The Atlassian team has an article with steps on this
I have followed the instructions, but the group of people I attached are still not showing. It is still only the person with board permissions. Also I had wanted to restrict it to only one person, but that was not an option...although it being a user picker field for a single user I guess that is okay.

Also, when I removed the one user I had in "People and access" in my project settings, I got a warning. Could permissions be the issue? This was the only person that appears in my "Direct Report" drop down, instead of the group I selected for the field.

On a hunch, I added the group that are approvers to the project and the drop down menu worked. Even when I added new people who were not in that group the drop down menu stayed the same. I just needed to add the group of approvers to the project so it works now. Looking back it is very apparent. Thank you guys so much. I adore this community :) Answer accepted!!!
