Hi Team,
Could you please let me know below if it's possible in Jira asset management.
1. Is it possible to create a custom different type of attribute apart from what is provided by default?
Need attribute type like just time. Currently can see date, date-time type. But can't see just "time".
2. Is it possible to create reference to a non label attribute from another schema?
Currently, able to refer to a label attribute. But wanted to refer to the second attribute in a different schema's object type.
3. Is it possible to customize the panel view of the objects in the cloud version?
Thanks.
Hi @Kavi
To your first question, Just try to get a clearer picture of the rationale of the requirement.
what is your use case for this need where the customized time attribute outweighs the data-time format? Viewed from a broader angle, the latter can indicate more precise or less problematic information.
The second question is more about where the same object type needs to be referenced in different schemas with varied attributes. Is that what you are after?
Hi @Zoey Wang
Thanks for your response.
1. We have scenario to represent different workflow jobs and their schedule time. For this, I am not able to see any available attribute type to represent this information. So, was checking if Jira asset management has options to create custom attribute type.
Still, for schedule, I could not come to a point on representing it. Because schedule is different for each jobs. Some job is scheduled to run daily at some time, some are weekly once. Some jobs run on a specific time in weekdays and different time in weekends.
2. Yes right. For workflow job representation, I am thinking to keep the job name and description in a separate schema in an object type. Then, will create reference from different schema's object type.
I tried to represent my usecase below in a outline based on two schemas and what I am trying to achieve. By this design, I don't need to create job name and description for each environment every time, instead I could create reference.
Schema1:
Object type: Workflows
Objects:
Job1 and it's description.
Job2 and it's description.
Job3 and it's description.
.
.
.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Schema2:
Object type: Environment1
Objects:
Job1, it's description and it's schedule.
Job2, it's description and it's schedule.
Job2, it's description and it's schedule.
.
.
.
Object type: Environment2
Objects:
Job1, it's description and it's schedule.
Job2, it's description and it's schedule.
Job2, it's description and it's schedule.
.
.
.
Object type: Environment3
Objects:
Job1, it's description and it's schedule.
Job2, it's description and it's schedule.
Job2, it's description and it's schedule.
.
.
.
Thanks.

Hi @Kavi
Thank you for your reply.
I did some research and confirmed that there is no time format available in Asset attribute settings.
However, to meet your requirement in this case, is it worth looking to use military format to represent the specific time for the workflow jobs?
For instance, 8:00am ->0800; 8:00pm ->2000
Then integer type can perfectly fit the need.
Or any other situations may be considered?

Hi @Zoey Wang
Thanks for taking your time to check and respond.
Sure, will consider to use integer type to represent the time.
Thanks.
