Quick question about the new Operations etc. I have a 3rd party source that is creating alerts. From them, we are creating issues - works as it should. The problem is with this - 3rd party integration can close the alert, but I can't find a way to close linked issue. Anyone had problem like that?

Hi @Lukasz Grobelny assuming you're using a Sync to create issues when an alert is created, then you need to add a rule to close the issue when the alert is closed. You would create that rule, or update your existing rule, under the rules section "Create and update issues against alerts created by integrations or other syncs".

For example, I have an UptimeRobot integration that creates an alert when one of my websites goes down, and closes the alert when the website comes back up. Then within the sync that's connected to my desired JSM project, I have a rule that does the following.

  • Creates an incident when an UptimeRobot alert is created.
  • Comments on the incident when the alert is acknowledged.
  • Sets the incident status to Done when the alert is closed.

Hopefully this helps point you in the right direction.
