Change issue type by Automation

Hi,

We are using JIRA Templates to create issue. The default type while creating from template is Asset. I want to change this issue type from "Asset" to "Task" using automation.

How can I do this? Or is it possible?

No - I dont mean issue type when I say template. these are standards templates created for similar issues created frequently.

Hello, I am assuming that by templates you mean issue type. If this is the case you can select the default issue type for you project in the Issue Type scheme section (this is available to admins).
