Hi Guys,
We are a manufacturing company that is expanding quickly. We build basically arcade/simulator machines and then sell them to different centers.
I'm running a trial of Jira to improve our helpdesk/ticketing system. That side is fine and has been really great to set up so far and a vast improvement on the other software we were using before.
My question is about Assets. Our simulators contain lots of different parts/components. When one of those parts becomes faulty and needs to be sent back to us I would like the ability for the customer to be able to raise a return request through a form or ticket and essentially have a way of checking parts in and out, changing location and status. i.e. they can select the part as out of action and in transit etc.
I've been playing with forms and Automation. But am struggling to find the functionality that I want and am getting the feeling that I'm really having to bend the system to make it do what I want. I just wanted to know if I am going in the right direction and whether this is the right sort of use case for assets within Jira or if would I need to look at more specialised software or a plugin. I'm very keen to use Jira due to being able to link Tickets directly to parts.
I've googled and searched the community for similar use cases but am struggling to find people with the same sort of use case or any more detailed explanations about setting up such a system.
Am I going in the right direction? And does anyone have any hidden gem resources i cant find.
Thanks
Dave
Hey Dave,
Do you have a screenshot of your asset Schema/object types that I can see to look at how your setup is?
