×Hi every one!!!
I need your help regarding with the following:
I want to change the default language of a project:
After that, I choose the desired language:
Finally, I get "Changes couldn't be saved. Try again" message. I did this step in severals opportunities, and every time get same error.
Is there some caritative soul that can help me?
Regards! Gustavo
Hi,
I had the same problem with default language change "Changes couldn't be saved. Try again" error. I looked at the saving POST request (e.g. https://mytestweb.atlassian.net/rest/servicedesk/lingo-integration/1/manage-language/10002), its result status code was 500 with this error message: " FD-86: Failed to copy translations of project 10002 from Lingo to original table: This issue type cannot be changed because the issue type on which this issue type is based was removed. To restore the issue type, add back its associated issue type in the issue type schema in this project" (translated).
So I added all previously removed unused issue types back to my project's Issue Type Scheme and then I was able to successfully save the project's default language change. After the change I removed the unused issue types from the Issue Type Scheme again.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Richard!
This worked for me, temporarily adding all the available issue types and then I was able to change the default language.

Hi,
We have had the exact same problem with every Service Desk Project we have created. Very frustrating, as multiple language support is one of the main reasons why we went for this product. This has even been reported as a bug many times, by variuos customers of Atlassian. (Found that with a search on this page: https://jira.atlassian.com/projects/JSDCLOUD/issues/JSDCLOUD-8089?filter=allopenissues
But I cant seem to find any response from Atlassian.
Is there any easy soultion to this?

I think that have something related between KEY and Project Template. I did:
1. delete your project
2. create new project using a different template and SAME key
3. add language, test changing some text
4. after test, delete this new project created
5. create back your original project with your oficial template and SAME key
6. add language, test changing some text
Voilà! I recommend you do not delete any default Request Type from your project.

I had to create a new project to solve it and go forward.
I didn't get help or support from you or the Atlassian team in mora than 1 month. Sincerely this will affect my decition of keep working with Atlassian in near future.
Kind regards,
Gustavo

Hey Gustavo,
Thank you for writing back!
I understand your concern - 1 month is a long time indeed.
In community we are trying to give a chance to other community members to answer questions and Support here is not necessary monitoring all newly created questions right away.
For issues like this - when you have a blocker and product is not behaving as it is expected to, I would recommend to file a ticket to Support right away.
You can still do it if you want, just add a reference to this community post. We will be happy to help!
Warm regards,
Vasily

Having the same issue with our Cloud Jira. Cannot change default language for the project. Same error. So I have to configure everything in English and add Russia translations, instead just having all in Russian.

Hey Gustavo,
It's been a while since you reported this issue, however could you please let me know if that was fixed? What was the issue?
I totally agree that error message is not informative at all and that should be addressed.
If this is something still happening, I am happy to get in touch with Product Team to address this case.
Regards,
Vasily
