Hi! I am currently using the default notification scheme for my agents and customers. I am trying to figure out how to send the notifications using issue types as a trigger. For example, one of my issue types is "Information Security" and when a new issue is created using that type, I would like an email sent to a select few agents in the InfoSec dept. I have created a group in JIRA for them and am able to add that group to the existing notification scheme. That said, they receive notifications for all issue types as I am not able to figure out how to tell JIRA to send the notification only for the specific issue type. Any ideas?

I recommend for you the following solution
- create a different workflow for your issue separate than others
-update add the custom event to the notification scheme and add. your group
- then create a custom Event and associate it with this workflow by just updating the event
then please follow the detailed instruction Add a custom event

You can create an automation for a newly created ticket with condition that the request type matches the specified value and then send an email.
