Can a project in JSM share the same project key from Jira Software

We are migrating a project from Jira Software that has a project key of AMSIR and now creating a new project in JSM.  Can we use the same project key or do we need to create a new one?

In Jira/JSM env, project key has to be unique regardless what type of application that the project is for.  So you will need a different key name for your JSM project.
