Hello
Is it possible to copy fields w/ a postfunction from one child issue (Sub-tasks) to another one (Subtask-Task)?
The parent issue is an Epic, would like to use an post function during a transition
Hello @Tiago Pereira
If you can give us more informations about what you are trying to achieve exactly, someone can help you with your Automation.
In the meantime, we developed an application called Copy & Sync that allows you to copy and sync any type of issues with post-functions, and you can choose exactly what you want to copy (fields, attachments, comments, etc.).
You can also use JQL queries or add your recipes as a post-function directly in Automation.
You can have a look at our documentation for an overview of what our app can do.
Anyway, don't hesitate to tell us more about your need!
Regards
Hello Thibaut so in my project for each status one subtask will be created (by automation) -> check image
The last subtask should copy the content value from 2 fields from the 1st subtask created.
I don't know if automation rule would be adequate here as it is already creating it, maybe automation rules could conflict?
I saw there is an postfunction option to copy filed value and I can use an JQL, but thing is not sure how will I narrow it down to: current subtask epic parent -> subtask type

I understand, one way to do it is that the first subtask created should be the trigger for the creation of the second subtask so the first subtask can be the source issue and you will be able to retrieve fields/values from it.
Maybe on each transition of the task (except the first one that will need to create the first subtask), it will update the latest subtask created (a field for example) and this update will be the trigger for the creation of the next subtask.
It requires to create several automation rules or branches.
I don't know if this will work but it's worth looking into it.

Hi Tiago,
You would probably be better off using an automation rule.

How do I jql query to find the epic parent issue required subtask fields?
