I have an asset field in the Issues, and if several assets are involved, you can select them in the ticket by clicking on them. At the moment you can only click and insert one, and then click and insert another one. The key combination Ctrl + Click does not work.
How can I select the 5 assets without always searching for them? Is there no multiple selection there?
That part of the Assets field UX is still pretty clunky. There’s no native multi-select with Ctrl or Shift like you'd expect, it’s basically a one-by-one process.
What I usually do is open the Assets field, start typing something broad (like a shared keyword or asset type), and it gives a list you can click through faster. Still manual, but a bit less painful than full re-search every time. Haven’t seen a config option to enable real multi-select yet, and it doesn’t look like the new UI fixed that either.
If you're using automation or scripting (Insight post-functions), you can bulk-update assets behind the scenes, but for the UI side.
Hi, thanks for your answer!

When I do this, I also enter a keyword there, I get the list, but when I then click on a thing, the search/keyword disappears and the list also disappears.
So at the moment I have to do it this way:
Click on field, enter keywords, select/click add asset and this repeats for each asset.
Nothing gets stuck in the search, the keyword is deleted as soon as I click on an asset.

Yeah, that’s the exact friction point , the field resets after each selection, so there’s no way to keep the keyword or list active. I ran into the same issue and didn’t find any UI workaround for it either. What helped in my case was using an external bulk asset picker via the API, we built a small internal tool for that, but that’s overkill for many setups.
If you want something simpler, take a look at Snipe IT Sync for Jira Assets or similar Marketplace tools. Some of them offer improved search and selection UX, and many include a free plan, which should be enough if you're working with a limited number of assets or users.
