Problems with using issue color

I have an automation which changes the isse color depending on it's customer type. But the color will not changed in the board or in the queues. And insert the 'issue color' in a queue leads to the following:

Anyone an idea how to improve this or any other idea how to highlight issues via automation?

Hi @Martin Hirsch

The color is just an option in a field as you present it here?

Is this based on a custom field with option or are you using an app, what is your setup?

Using a CF with color options will no show on a board or in a queue, its just words set as information.

What is you goal, to have real colors, then you should look at an app on the marketplace

No, it isn't a custom field.

The goal is to categorize issues do to their color. But not to create new queues for this. We want to see in a queue which kind of customer has creataed the request.

Hi @Martin Hirsch

So what is the app that is providing this option, as this is not a CF?

If you are using an app, you might need to contact the vendor/developer on the issue you have. Is was you want even possible with their app?

It's just a normal field from Jira Service Managment. There is no other App

I did some digging.

To my understanding is "Issue Color" is the replacement for "Epic Color", and that both only apply to Epics.

This in Team Managed projects.

This is the color epics display in their lozenges on child issues and on roadmaps, etc. So this color can impact boards/backlogs when they show their parent epic's information on the card, swim lanes, and the epic panel.

So this can't be used for coloring issue.

Do you know another possibility to change the color of an issue?

@Marc - Devoteam thanks for recommending our app Awesome Custom Fields!

@Martin Hirsch unfortunately at the moment there is no way to add "colorful" fields into a board, table or card. There is an open feature request at Atlassian: https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/browse/FRGE-135

That being said, if you need any further assistance feel free to contact us: https://seibert.biz/acf-jira-demo

Cheers,

paul

PS: you may also use our fields in a JSM request.
