Hi Everyone,
I have a situation where I need to send an "Approval" email / Notification again. Can you trigger this manually? Or do I have to move the status of the ticket back to the Approval status and then to the next status in the workflow to trigger it again but this time with updated information?
Any text or links on this subject would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Tim
Hi Tim,
There are a couple of ways to do this that I can think of. One is to do what you suggest - move it back a status and then back into the Approval Status. Another way would be to clear the names of the users from the Approvers field that you want to receive the email, and then put them back into the Approvers field. That should trigger the email to those persons again.
Hi John,
Thanks for your response. I initially tried to change the name but it didn't seem to send an update. We have an plugin that scrapes AD for the updated information and then enters it into the correct fields in Jira. I think this is preventing the approval notification to not work even though it updates the field we use to send to the correct email address.
Plus the field is a custom_field in Jira which I believe is also contributing to the approval notification not being resent when the name in it is updated to the correct name.
Do you have any other suggestions? otherwise, I'll look into moving the job status back to the status just before the transition that should resend the notification.
Thanks
Tim
