Hello Team,
I would like to ask why I am unable to tag or share in a particular project. Screenshot 2024-02-12 at 11.32.13.png

Hello @Oluwaseun Adedeji

For tagging people to the project you need to make sure that you have Browse Users global permission - for this you need to be a Jira admin in order to change this setting.

This permission can be set based on your project role that your user is in (for an example Administrator).

For the sharing issue you need to:

  1. Navigate to Settings -> Products
  2. Go to the Configuration within Jira Service Management, make sure that Should new requests automatically be shared with a customer's organization to be set on Yes

Hello @Nikola Perisic I do not know if you can help with something similar. I have a user who does not receive email notification.  What Can I do do?

Hey @Oluwaseun Adedeji  glad to hear! Is it only one user that is affected? Within your project settings you have the option of Customer notifications.

If everything is checked and they are still not receiving the notifications, then it could be that their email address is on the supression list from Atlassian side. In that case, you should raise a ticket on Atlassian support site:

Hello @Nikola Perisic Not just one person about two to three people. And there are two settings that are not checked. Do you think those two could be the issue?Screenshot 2024-02-12 at 12.36.58.png

Hi @Oluwaseun Adedeji if other people than other three people are not being affected by this issue, then it is not the problem from the settings perspective, rather from the supression list.

Hello @Nikola Perisic once I remove myself as the project administrator, I am unable to tag people from the portal. What could be the reason?

This is due to the global permission which is browse users and groups. You need to check the global setting for this:

  • Go to Settings -> System -> Global permissions

In here you need to check the project roles that are having this permission. Administrator is one of them by default and this is why you were not able to tag people.
