Unable to fetch customer request type field from rest api search

Pornima Bhoyar March 9, 2020

In case of fetching issue results from given rest api, customer request type field is not returning and giving a permission error.

Hello @Pornima Bhoyar ,

If the request type field is not returned and a permission error is returned instead, there are good chances the account used to authenticate the REST API call is not an agent in that service desk project.

However, this is just a guess based on the very little information available.  If this won't help, please run the same REST API request using Curl and paste the output in here (removing the sensitive data like e.g. email address, api token and site name).

Cheers,
Dario

Hello @Dario B ,

We are fetching jql search results from REST API (/rest/api/3/search?jql) using addon user created by default to authenticate the REST API call.

Is there any permission related changes ? because previously the same api with same user used to fetch those fields?

Thank you,

Pornima

@Pornima Bhoyar ,

A security fix was deployed recently in order to prevent users removed from a service desk project to be still able to access the issues summary that they created before being removed from the project.

However, since I am not sure this is related, can you kindly provide an example showing what was returned before and what is returned now using the same user and the same JQL query?

Also, please let us know:

  • When you first noticed this change of behavior
  • If this an app built by you or an app you have installed on your instance

Cheers,
Dario
