For team managed project you can add up to 30 issues types ( https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/set-up-issue-types-in-team-managed-projects/ ), I want to know what is the limit for company managed project
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
It's limited to the highest integer the database can store in a field.
That number is many orders of magnitude higher than the number at which you're confusing your human users of the system with too many issue types to select from.
If you've got more than 12 in a project, they're probably going to be struggling already, and you should be looking at why you've got so many - you may be misusing them (the exception to that is if you are not asking the users to directly choose the issue type - for example, an external system working out the right one, or when you're in a service desk where people choose the request type and the issue type is automated from that)
We want to fetch issueTypes for customer JIRA project using JIRARestClient. At the moment we dont have metrics on what is the maximum number of issueTypes our customer have.
So we wanted to know if there are any limits in place for company based projects, but your answer is helpful to know what is ideal max number of issues a project can have
