Hello. Trialing JSM Cloud Premium edition. I have insight discovery configured as a service on a Windows 2016 server. And the agent installed on a single Windows 10 pc. The scan works as scheduled and generates a ZIP file containing the XML.
I have opened a copy of the XML and confirmed that it contains the installed software on the pc (see below) in addition to the hardware details - cpu, ram etc. However when I import this into Insight only the hardware details get imported.
Wondering if someone can point me in the right direction? As I've been re-reading docs, posts etc. and cannot figure it out.
The Discovery schema was created by the automated (non-agent) discovery scan of a subset of our office LAN subnet. Which incidentally didn't include the installed software either (I think because that pattern was not included?). I suspect that this might be the cause and that I need to create this part of the schema to successfully import and create the installed software objects.
Agent XML excerpt:
<ApplicationServices>
...
</ApplicationServices>
...
<Applications>
<ApplicationInfo>
Have you looked at your Import configuration inside your Object Schema that uses the Discovery imports to see if the Object Type Mapping inside the Import Configurations has the software items you want listed? If not, you'll probably have to include them.
If you don't have attributes defined in your Object types, you'll probably have to create those too.
Thanks Robert. The schema appears to have the necessary object types and associated attributes.
Probably a noob question but where do I check the Object Type Mapping in the Import configuration?
When I edit the import configuration all I can see are the 'general fields' page and module fields page. Neither have anything that seems related to object type mappings.
When I create an import there is the additional page to choose type of import (Discovery) and when I save the configuration it prompts to create a predefined structure and configuration. Here I can choose object types but I've tried specifying 'Application' here and it makes no difference.
I've tried executing the import a couple of times. It makes no difference.

OMG! I feel more than a little embarrassed! Just discovered if I click on the import configuration it expands! The missing object types are disabled.
Thank you for the push in the right direction Robert.

Some more info:
Created a new blank schema.
Created a Discovery import attaching the ZIP file from the agent scan of the pc.
Created predefined structure and configuration w/ 'none' selected in the dropdowns.
Executed the import.
Checked objects created in my 'test' schema. Everything is imported from the XML except Application Services, Patches and Applications despite containing information in the XML.
Schema has object types and attributes defined for these missing objects.
I'm either doing something fundamentally wrong or wondering if Insight Cloud edition does not support these object types.
Any ideas?
