Morning,
So we are in the process of setting up customers in our JSD we currently have Atlassian Access and have setup our JSD team and admins for SSO. However, we are running into difficulty figuring out how to setup our customers to also be able to use SSO to sign into the portal?
We are using cloud.
Hi Jason,
Currently, it's not possible to set SSO for the Customer Portal. We have a feature request suggesting the implementation of such ability:
Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the feature.
A workaround is to migrate your customers to Atlassian account and remove their application access, so they can log in the same as other users with SSO, but as they won't have a license, they will be redirected to the customer portal.
Regards,
Angélica
OK, that is unfortunate. Is there a bulk way to import or sync users with our AD? Like most people we have a ever changing list of 700+ users.
Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason,
Jira does not have the feature to bulk migrate customers to Atlassian account, so it's necessary to migrate one by one.
We have a feature request suggesting the implementation of this ability:

If we migrate all the accounts to become Atlassian accounts, will we be charged even though they are only portal customers?
Thanks
Kelly

The lack of AD integration is a complete show-stopper if that's the case. Are we supposed to manually manage all of our users in Jira Service Desk? That's really disappointing for an otherwise really good product.

Hello @John Morrow,
Thank you for reaching out to Community!
The last update is from January 18 and it was posted on the description of the feature:
- SSO integration with JIRA Service Desk
We have identified this functionality as important, and have started work towards a solution. Effort is focused on resolving internal dependencies, and as such there will not be a solution available before July 2021.
I will seek to update this issue again towards the end of the FY with an updated timeline.
Please, make sure to vote and watch the feature to receive updates from our developers and product managers.
Kind regards,
Angélica

Hi @Nelson Abbey,
The last update is from September 13. Our product managers added the details on the description of the feature request ticket:
Thank you for your patience. I apologise, it has been too long since I have provided an update for this feature request.
The bad news is that it has taken longer than expected to line up the necessary dependencies to deliver this capability. It is on its way, but we do not expect to be able to deliver it until mid 2022.
Please, check the ticket below for more details:
Kind regards,
Angélica
