What is the difference as getting backup  the app in market place or data export function in Jira Service Management?

Couple of differences:

1. Automation of the backup process

2. Ability to catalog your backup data when you use an App such as Revyz for data restore - Ability to restore your data back in a granular manner. Keep in mind you backup data such that you are able to restore that data back easily.

3. Application of a retention policy and backup data management

4. Most Important for JSM - Data export does not cover JSM Assets

In my view if you are looking at it from the lens of JSM #2 & #4 are critical.
