Did you mean:

use smart value / variable in Workflow post function

Hi,

Basic question: is it possible to use smart values in Workflow-post functions to set the value of a field ?

I know how to set a static value to a field using post-functions but I won´t get it to work using smart values - I have just tried as in jira automation to enter {{issue.reporter.properties.office}}

as a result exactly "{{issue.reporter.properties.office}}" will be the value of the field

bit more information:

currently I am testing the atlassian user properties, set via API (currently just via Postman)

Finally I am able to set a user property: {{issue.reporter.properties.office}}

content of this smart value is: {office=Munich}

I want to set this value when a issue is created using a Jira Workflow instead of a Jira Automation.

I also tried to use smart values in a Zendesk workflow comment and it didn't seem to work.  Trying to find if they are supported there.

Hello Felix,

I tried it also with different variables but without success.

I think it is not possible to use smart values or any other expression expect %%CURRENT_DATETIME%% and %%CURRENT_USER%%

Why don't you want to use a Jira Automation?

Alternatively you can use Apps like JWT oder JMWE. Its possible to set variables with them..

Sam
