Hi Atlassian Team!
I have been attempting an automation that links a Jira Service Desk Request Issue (Staff Expense Approval) to a Standard Issue Type (Staff Expenses).
What we are trying to achieve with this is that with each staff expense request that an employee creates, the automation will then look for an open ticket for that single employee. Essentially, every time an employee logs an issue the automation will look for their "profile" and will link the recently created staff expense request (Staff Expense Approval) to the employee staff expense 'profile' (Staff Expenses).
Now all the information will have been captured in the actual request the most important being the amount being expensed and then summed into the request as a total. We would like to take this a step further and we would like to sum the customfield (Amount Incl. VAT) values for all the linked issues to the employee's 'profile' (Staff Expenses).
We initially tried to go the route of lookUp issues, but were unsuccessful in our attempts.
Refer to this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWU4NGMrgYQ
It's summing up Story points through link relationships and you just need to replace it with a your custom field.
Regards,
Fabian

I would also make sure that you are using a global automation as this is spanning multiple projects.
You might want to use the Compare condition to highlight the field data similarities or differences.
I would also try to use a lookup issue and or JQL statement to narrow down the search.
