Time difference on Jira Export

Angie October 19, 2020

Greetings i want to understand why we have 2 hours behind difference from our issues

When searching an Issue on Jira the Date Created displays as: Created June 19, 2020, 9:42 AM

But as soon as I open it in Microsoft Excel its show 2hours behind difference

On Open in Microsoft Excel: 2020/06/19 07:42 am

Im from South Africa

Please could you advise on why the JIRA Export to Excel Function is having this issue.

As a side note we would use CSV, but this is restricted to 1000 records in search and export, so not helpful when exporting larger files.

Hi @Angie ,

I know this is an "old" ticket but just in case you're still looking into this: This seems to be a bug, where the issues in the export are in UTC time rather than local (if you're in South Africa, one of he timezones there is UTC+2). There is also this post that talks about the issue: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Service-Management/Time-is-wrong-when-I-export-to-excel/qaq-p/1811186

And the corresponding Atlassian ticket here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/API-272, describes the issue and offers a couple of workarounds.
