Why am I only seeing request types and not issue types?

I'm am struggling to find where/how to use tasks in Service Desk with next-gen projects. All of the documentation I find refers to issue types when talking about tasks and sub-tasks, however I am only seeing Request types in my projects menus. What am I missing? When I go to Jira Settings --> Issue Types I can see Task and Sub-task as options, but I have no way to add them to any of my next-gen projects because I don't have the option for issue types.

Hi @Chris Knowlton , I really don't use NG JSD (yet) but as I understand it the two have been combined. There is not Issuetype.

I'm very new to Jira so I'm not sure. I do see Issue type referenced in all the documentation regarding sub-tasks and that documentation is relatively recent:

both of those articles are referring to JSW NG project not JSD NG projects. In JSW there are Issue Types in JSD there are Request Types. Confusing? Yep!

*expletive deleted* really? I thought there were hints but damn that is super bad categorization of the help content.

Thanks for setting me straight!

Anybody know if tasks/sub-task are coming to next-gen service desk?
