Why doesn't the component field show on issue view?

Hi,

I can't figure out why the component field doesn't show on issue view.

If someone submits a request by email, a ticket is automatically created.  When I open the ticket the component field doesn't appear on the screen until I change the request type from Emailed Request to the proper request type.  Sometimes it takes 20 seconds or so for the screen to refresh and the component field to appear which is starting to get annoying!

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Lindsay

Lindsay,

Are any components added to the issue when it is created?  My guess is when they come in via email no components are added and thus the field would not show.  When you change the issues request type is an automation running that adds a component?   My guess is when the request type is changed a component is getting added.  Then it takes a couple of seconds for the issue information to refresh and the component field to show.   You could add a component to the email request type and hide is do it is set when the request type is submitted and see if the component field then shows up.
