auto-transition status of workflow when comment is made

Is there a way to transition to another status within a workflow when a customer adds a comment?

I remember in my past job a user would comment and it would auto-transition to "waiting for support" and when I would comment it would change to "waiting for customer".

Hi @Brad Krivelow ,

Welcome to The Atlassian Community!

This used to be one of the Automation rules for JSM projects. I still have this enabled in "Legacy Automation".

Here is great answer with screenshot showing how to use it: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Service-Management/comment-updates-reply-status/qaq-p/1714379
