.coop domain addresses not allowed

For some reason, we have a customer that cannot be added into the JSM project as the authentication when entering the customer states the email address not valid... the email address ends in a .coop domain ... Any ideas or is this a bug?

As this is controlled by Atlassian please raise the  support ticket and check whether coop domain can be added and validated.
