502 Bad Gate error after upgrade JIRA from 7.11 to 8.0

Roger Guo February 19, 2019

Hi,

I just upgraded out JIRA server from 7.11 to 8.0 according to the upgrade guide. But I cannot open JIRA any more, it always saying "502 Bad Gate" error.

I tried to restore back to my old version since the portal is very important. But I cannot start the JIRA 7.11 any more and it appears I don't have JVM any more after upgrade.

It's urgent, please help

Problem resolved.

The reason of my 502 is the upgrade program simply replaced my tomcat server.xml. Well, my server.xml was configured with SSL certificate to support https. The standard server.xml can start the server, but conniver been reached by https. I copied my SSL info in server.xml and copied the key then it works well.

Suggestion: The document mentioned modification should be migrated, but doesn't say anything about tomcat server.xml will be overwritten.

Hope this can be helpful for others.

Roger
