I am evaluating ScriptRunner for our Enterprise Cloud version of Jira. I have few clarifications in this regard. Response will be of great help for me to decide faster.

1. Is "ScriptRunner Enhanced Search" part of the standard license for Jira Cloud?

2. If I procure license for 10 users, does it mean only 10 concurrent users can use it?

3. If a JQL query is written using Functions provided by ScriptRunner, will the rest of the project team members view or use the Query to configure gadgets in a Dashboard? Assuming the query is shared with the project. (project size is: 50 members)

4. Is the Dashboard prepared using JQL queries with Functions provided by "ScriptRunner Enhanced Search" be visible to rest of the project team members? (project size is: 50 members)

Hi Mohajit,

Thank you for your questions, I have answered them inline below.

  1. I can confirm that ScriptRunner Enhanced Search is included in the plugin as standard and you can see the documentation on this feature here.
  2. I can confirm that Atlassian mandate that you must licence Jira Plugins for the same number of users as your Jira licence as described here in the Pricing FAQ section. This means that you cannot licence it for just 10 users if your Jira licence is for a larger licence tier.
  3. I can confirm that the enhanced search functions can only be used on the Enhanced search page currently but when a filter is saved and shared then a copy of the filter is created in the standard Jira filter view which all users who the filter is shared with can view. Also, I can confirm that it can be referenced in a standard JQL search using the JQL of filter=<FilterNameHere>  in order to allow the results of the filters to be used in other queries or in dashboard gadgets.
  4. If you create a dashboard which shows filters using enhanced search queries then you can share this using the built-in sharing functionality as described here as the ScriptRunner for Jira Cloud does not automatically share dashboards.

If this response has answered your question can you please mark it as accepted so that other users can see it is correct when searching for similar answers.

Kristian
