Hi guys!
I cannot find the answer in topics so maybe you will help me.
Im looking for specific type of automation. So what i try to achieve is: when I fill in "Frontend" field with user this user automatically become watcher of the task.
My issue is that at "Manage watchers" component i can only point specific user instead of something like "user added to the field".
Thx for help!
Hello Mikolaj,
Welcome to community :)
You can maybe try something like below add the smart value of the field and see if the user in the frontend field gets added as the wtacher
Thank You,
prachi
Hi @Mikołaj -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
First, to identify the smart value (or custom field ID) for your field, please use this how-to article: https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/find-the-smart-value-for-a-field/
Next, to use a smart value expression in actions like Manage Watchers, it is not always obvious that the expression may be used. To do this:

Thank you @Prachi Bolarfor your help. Unfortunately smart value that you provide doesn't work. I will try to understand on my own how smart values works as @Bill Sheboy suggest (also thanks!). But if you will have any other ideas feel free to share :)
Have a nice day guys!

Thank you Mikolaj :)
The smart value that i tested was as per the custom field that i used.
So say the field frontend
you can try {{issue.customfield_id}}
the id of the custom field can be got by this method : https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/find-my-custom-field-id-number-in-jira-744522503.html
Please try this and let us know if you get any errors
Thank You,
Prachi
