"in jira cloud project we have to custom fields called Planned Implementation Start times or Planned Implementation End Times ( type is Date and time picker) we need to compare and verify while the issue creation or edit issue time and Transition issue time if the end time is before start time, then generate value or text message ( Message Custom filed )"end time is before the start time please verify" has to be added under "Jira Automation Message” I am trying below
Create an automation rule
Trigger: any value changes for Planned Implementation Start times or Planned Implementation End Times for create, edit and transition issues.
Condition and Action:
if the end time is before start time, generate value for the “Jira Automation Message” to remind the user. And revert the changed field (either Planned Implementation Start times or Planned Implementation End Times) to the previous value.
else, clear the content in the “Jira Automation Message”
But i am not sure how to use " Message custom filed( view) in the Advance custom filed in automations in Jira cloud
Any help would be appreciated
Message custom filed( view)
Hello @Sudarsana G,
I am part of the Decadis team and I am here to propose a solution with our app Jira Workflow Toolbox for Jira Cloud. It is possible to validate if the date of one Date Time Picker field is before the date of another Date Time Picker field during issue creation with our Compare two values validator.
If you need more information about this approach or our app, you can contact us in this thread or via our support portal.
Best regards,
Vicente
