Adding a custom filed for only few projects?

hi all,

our company wants to have custom field to be available to few projects ( 30) so, the way i did it is add a custom field to the issuetype and associate this custom field to the projects through the contexts ( default custom field configuration).

 going forward, when a requests to create a new project comes in and it is supposed to have this custom field. instaed of adding each individual project, is there a way i can do this by screens configurations or field configurations ?

For custom fields, you can do this with

• Custom field context (only show it in some projects)
• Field configurations (hide the field in some configs and use the configs for different projects)
• Screens (put it on some screens and not others)

It's up to you which one you use, although I'd lean towards screens for your case, as they make the most logical sense for admins, and the "field context" option has the problem that you need to modify a field context every time you add a project.
