For which issue type you need to have the start and due date?
Also, you need to:
- Edit your issue layout where you will be adding the Start Date and Due Date fields in to the layout
- Go back to your time line, click on your time line when a line is being created, like from the image:
From there you can change your start and end date which will reflect on the timeline.
